Catherine Anderson (cello)

A native of Guelph, Catherine Anderson is a member of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony. As a chamber musician Catherine has been broadcast on CBC radio and has appeared at the Festival of the Sound and the Elora Festival. She has also performed with the St. Lawrence, Penderecki, Borealis and Lafayette String Quartets. Her solo recitals have included venues such as the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Music Society and various universities and colleges in Ontario, and she has performed concertos with the Consortium Aurora Borealis in Thunder Bay, and the Wilfrid Laurier University Orchestra. Catherine was a member of the Thunder Bay Symphony and a sessional lecturer at Lakehead University for four years prior to moving back to southwestern Ontario.

Catherine holds a Master of Music degree from Yale University, where she studied with Aldo Parisot and was coached regularly by members of the Tokyo String Quartet. She received a Bachelor of Music from Wilfrid Laurier University, where she studied with cellist Paul Pulford and other members of the Penderecki String Quartet.
