Happy 200th Birthday, Mendelssohn!
What better way to party than to perform his music?
Felix Mendelssohn (1809–1847) was a brilliant composer, writing with the ease of Mozart, and unfortunately living a similarly short life. But virtually everyone knows at least one famous work by Mendelssohn, whether it be his popular Violin Concerto in E minor, his Songs without Words, Symphonies, String Quartets, or the Wedding March!
Guelph Musicfest celebrates his 200th birthday by having every concert in the Artist Series feature at least one of his works. The links below will help you explore Mendelssohn on the web.
