This class is offered to any adult (parent or TD course participant) wanting to take semi-private lessons in violin, viola or piano during the week. Lessons will be scheduled with 3 students per hour. Each participant will receive 5 lessons during the week. Participants must have some knowledge of the instrument and string players must bring their own instrument. Enrollment limited. First-come, first-serve.Cost: $130 CDN ($128 US)
Anyone can observe the student classes at SOSI. Parents of registered students may observe any of the student classes for free. For others, the observer fee is $30 CDN or US for the entire week or $15 CDN or US per day. A Suzuki teacher who has one or more students attending the Institute will be granted Observer status free of charge. Observers may not attend Teacher Development classes.
Teachers enrolled in our Teacher Development program are eligible for a tuition fee discount. For each of his/her students registered at SOSI, the teacher will be refunded $15 CDN or US of the TD tuition fee.
A single $350 CDN ($343 US) bursary is available to assist a Teacher Development participant in financial need.The application must be accompanied by a short letter describing your financial limitations and your interest in Suzuki teaching. No registration fee should be sent. If the bursary is awarded, it will be applied toward the registration fee and part of the tuition fee. Information about the bursary will be strictly confidential. Applicants who do not receive the bursary may withdraw their application without penalty.The application deadline is June 1, 2008.
